Abstract

The article aims to outline the possibilities for the sustainable development tourism within the context of nature preservation in the territories included in "Natura 2000". An emphasis is set on the concept for sustainable development of tourism, which is able to satisfy the needs of today's society for recreation. The protection of the environment, and in particular, the preservation of the natural heritage, is determined by the global environmental problems, climate change, land desertification and increasingly dramatic biodiversity loss. In this sense, the protection - the control of the impact of human activity - requires the implementation of specific communication strategies aimed at raising people's awareness and hence their cooperation in protecting the natural heritage both in the natural environment of the individual community and outside of it. The Natura 2000 network influences in different economic and social aspects for promoting of sustainable tourism.
