Role of Standardization for the Development of the Economy and Protection of the Interests of Consumers

Abstract

Examined is the role of the standardization for the development of the economy and protect the interests of consumers. Established are the tasks and directions in which standardization contributes to economic development – provision of an advanced information, save resources, improve and management the quality, safety and the environment, the development of specialization, cooperation and international trade. Standardization activities are laid down to protect consumers' interests. Listed are the problems that lie ahead to solve in order to strengthen the role of consumers and reflect their interests in the standards.
