Corn production in Europe, Bulgaria and Worldwide, future opportunities and trends

Abstract

The goal of this article is to analyse the global, European and Bulgarian production of corn during the period 2008-2014, and to identify the major countries producing corn in the world and in Europe, as well as trends in the produced quantities and the average yield of the corn crops. The paper also contains analysis of the reasons for higher corn production in the northwest regions of Bulgaria over the last few years compared to the northeast. The changes in the production trends are analyzed and future yields and 2015 market price are predicted. On the basis of the analysis, principal conclusions about the production, consumption and trade of cord in Bulgaria and worldwide are derived.
