Abstract

The concept of sustainability requires an enhancement to recover its opeational integrity. This report is a theoretical-methodological proposal, based on qualitative criteria. The general objective of the work is to describe agricultural sustainability from a systemic and complex approach. Specific purposes include a.- To express all the components of sustainability simultaneously as a necessary operational require-ment, b- To use the agroecosystems profile as a critical variable; c- To prioritise and qualify the scale and technology of the farms and d- To integrate the attributes for the transition from commercial systems to territorial ones. Small and medium scales, using good practices, plus tenure and residence features, generate sustainable systems. The resulting models can be agrosocial, agroecological or organic
