Abstract

El tema de la Responsabilidad Social de la Empresa resulta por demás interesante y controversial dado lo difícil que puede ser para un gerente dirigir su atención y sus esfuerzos hacia objetivos que parecen rebasar las fronteras de lo económico y que, a simple vista, no son redituables; tal es el caso de los objetivos sociales. La idea central a desarrollar en el presente trabajo es destacar la importancia de la responsabilidad social de la empresa; concepto éste que aparentemente no contradice los objetivos de eficiencia y rentabilidad empresariales contribuyendo, eso sí, al mejoramiento de la posición competitiva de la empresa y al éxito general de su gestión a largo plazo.
