Abstract

La palabra escuela tiene en nuestro idioma diversas acepciones. Entre ellas, una que expresa precisamente la idea contenida en el título de este artículo: “Conjunto de principios, doctrina y sistemas de un autor y sus seguidores”. La Fisiocracia tiene pues un doble mérito. Primero: haber sido reconocida como una escuela de pensamiento económico forjada al abrigo de los principios, doctrina y sistema económico de Jean Francois Quesnay y sus discípulos. Segundo: en la historia del pensamiento económico se le conoce como su “primera escuela”. En este trabajo he tratado de presentar una síntesis del pensamiento económico del maestro Quesnay y de su discípulo más aventajado, Turgot.
