Una aproximación a la gestión de la diversidad en el Perú

    La gestión de la diversidad ha cobrado importancia en las empresas del primer mundo, pues un grupohumano diverso puede aportar ventajas a las organizaciones. Sin embargo, aún encontramos en nuestrarealidad cercana empresas en las que las mujeres son consideradas como ciudadanos de segunda categoría,y en las que ser una persona mayor de 50 años puede significar perder el empleo por los estereotiposasociados a la edad. En este artículo se presenta la gestión de la diversidad como imperativa para lasempresas del siglo XXI, aunque se reconocen también sus riesgos asociados. En el marco teórico se muestranlos ámbitos de la diversidad y las principales prácticas que se desarrollan para gestionarla de maneraadecuada. Luego, se presentan los resultados obtenidos de las entrevistas con cuatro empresas que operanen el Perú y que gestionan la diversidad. Finalmente, se presentan las conclusiones del estudio
