La tasa de retorno de los sistemas de pensiones de reparto

    Este artículo examina los determinantes directos de la tasa de retorno implícita (p) asociada a un sistema de pensiones de reparto, al que resume y precisa la relación entre las contribuciones realizadas y los beneficios recibidos a los largo del ciclo de vida. En general, el crecimiento de las remuneraciones a lo largo del tiempo, las fórmulas para el cálculo de las pensiones, el balance financiero del sistema y las tendencias demográficas puede afectar el valor de p obtenido por diferentes cohortes. Más específicamente, sin embargo, se muestra que en los sistemas definidos por beneficios, donde dominan las fórmulas de pensión, los dos primeros factores interactúan en sus efectos sobre p, pero el crecimiento de la población no juega un papel directo en su determinación. Por otro lado, se consigna que el balance financiero del sistema y lo que la autoridad haga al respecto, tiene consecuencias importantes sobre el valor de p.
