Abstract

L’amélioration des conditions de vie des populations rurales est un objectif majeur de l’Etat dans un contexte de décentralisation progressif. Des politiques de développement des infrastructures routières peuvent y contribuer. Cet article a pour objectif d’identifier les effets directs de l’accès à une route/piste praticable en toute saison sur la diversification des sources de revenus et la réduction des pertes post-récoltes en milieu rural. L’article utilise les données collectées par le consortium ANSD-UASZ et Ageroute (2021) auprès de 579 ménages exploitants agricoles des régions de Sédhiou et Ziguinchor au Sénégal. A l’aide de la méthode d’appariement par inverse du score de propension, les résultats révèlent que l’accès à une route/piste praticable réduit les pertes post-récoltes et incite à une diversification des sources de revenus. L’intégration des petits exploitants aux marchés par l’existence de routes/pistes praticables peut constituer un instrument de développement dans les zones rurales.
