Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, with a particular focus on the specific role of Latvia as a strategic gateway for Eurasian freight flows. The study examines institutional reforms, digital integration, and innovative approaches to managing transit corridors, which contribute to the diversification of export–import flows and enhance regional competitiveness. Employing an interdisciplinary methodology, the research applies comparative institutional analysis, case studies, and empirical statistical data. Key drivers of digital transformation include the implementation of electronic platforms, customs automation, and the development of multimodal transport systems. The findings demonstrate that Latvia’s active participation in EU infrastructure and digital projects significantly strengthens Kazakhstan’s position in the European market, ensuring resilience and efficiency of logistics chains amid global geopolitical and economic challenges. The article offers practical recommendations for improving institutional compatibility, developing unified digital standards, and scaling transport and logistics corridors within the Eurasian space.
