Abstract

E-Learning in Statistics on university level can be performed by different scenarios. First the Virtual University of Bavaria will be presented, which offers an online platform for university courses. The didactical concept of the courses Statistics I and II is based on a self-learning platform, offering the opportunity of experimental learning, coached by tutors. The secondly presented concept is Live-E-learning which online simulates the lecture room and offers concentrated teaching and learning at domestic personal computers at fixed times. Strengths and weaknesses of these scenarios are discussed as well as their efficiency. Copyright Springer 2008
