Abstract

This paper aims to survey the literature on concepts of the Law of One Price (LOP) and the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) hypothesis and to present a detailed literature review of the empirical findings. In this paper, starting from the deviations from the LOP and the PPP as well as their main reasons, we briefly overview latest econometric and statistical techniques in general. We also examine the empirical literature on advanced economies in particular. This paper provides a comparative outlook to researchers, who are interested in related subjects in international economics and international finance.
