Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to present the impact of innovations on the operation of companies engaged in providing transportation services in the transport, forwarding and logistics (TSL) industry. Methodology: The above topic was developed using the available literature on the subject, by both Polish and foreign authors. A synthetic review of the above materials and an analysis of their content was carried out. On this basis, key conclusions were drawn, which made it possible to build a coherent and comprehensive argument. The work also takes into account current trends and developments in the field under discussion. Results: As a result of the literature analysis, it can be concluded that self-innovation in the TSL industry is an integral part of the company’s operation. The greater and more intensive the use of innovations, the greater the chance of attracting new customers. However, in order for this to happen, it is necessary to be open to change and aware of how important an element of the functioning of the enterprise is the creation and implementation of innovative solutions that contribute to the formation of competitive advantage. It is also crucial that innovations are tailored to the specifics of the market and the needs of customers, which increases their effectiveness and long-term impact on the development of the company. As a result, companies that respond dynamically to the changing environment and systematically introduce innovative solutions are more likely to succeed in the TSL industry. Research limitation/implications: Limited availability of literature that would be related to both the TSL industry and the introduction of innovations in it. Such a phenomenon is the motivation for the topic under discussion. The focus was on the literature of both Polish and foreign authors. The literature used to create the text was selected due to the research methodology used. Research problem: To what extent does the use of innovative solutions in a TSL company affect its potential and development, as well as the level of its competitiveness in the market of the TSL industry? Originality/value: The article addresses an important topic and contributes to the expansion of the Polish literature on innovation in the TSL industry. The article can help to understand the importance of innovation for the development of enterprises in the studied industry. It is also a valuable source of information for managers and decision-makers who want to implement innovative strategies in enterprises. As a result, the article can support the development of practical solutions that will contribute to the competitiveness of companies in the TSL sector.
