Abstract

The authors of the study undertook to answer the following questions: How many hours do innovation courses for future managers in technical universities take? What topics are covered during those courses? Do universities emphasize the implementation of postulates reported in the literature? Do the universities that excel at the patents granted also offer the largest number of classes on innovation? The analysis shows that the vast majority of the technical universities studied, provide for an educational program in the field of innovation. According to the authors, the proposed didactic material does not guarantee the student – the future manager, any training as regards the skills of creative thinking, the ability to influence people or adaptation in turbulent organizational conditions. Technical universities should propose at least two courses: one in the field of innovation management and the other in the field of inventics.
