Abstract

The aim of the paper is an analysis and assessment of experience in the realm of supervisory board activity in the researched family firms, including the identification of factors behind board appointment, evaluation of its usefulness and activities, and expectations connected with its operations. The character of the conducted research was qualitative. The technique used to gather data involved interviews. The research results received indicate relatively little usefulness of such boards for owners managing family firms.
