Abstract

The paper assesses the economic performance of the Russian regions based on the use of the innovation intensity indices taking into account the macroeconomic indicator system including indicators characterizing the production and use of the gross regional product, the foreign trade turnover and its structure as well as the dynamics of capital investment. The impact of the innovation intensity on the gross regional product per capita was studied using such statistically observed indicators as fixed asset investment, the cost of technological innovation, volumes of innovative goods, works and services. The calculations were performed using the correlation-regression analysis. The possibility of its application to the assessment of the relationship between innovation processes and the economic performance of a region was confirmed.
