Management Education in India – Emerging Issues and Strategies for 2001 A.D

Abstract

The sudden increase in the number of management schools from a handful of high class institutions to over 600 today has seen a steep deterioration in the quality of the education imparted. This is due to poor quality student intake, absence of competent faculty, desperately poor infrastructure, virtual absence of a library and above all the motive behind the opening of these management schools which is nothing more than the desire to make money. What can be done to improve the situation?
