The state's role in economic development of Russia in the XVIII century

Abstract

Formation of a strong state became a characteristic feature of the Russian civilization, a kind of Russian idea. Of particular interest is its evolution in the XVIII century, when the synthesis of traditions of Muscovite Russia and the new trends of the Petrine era gave a new quality of Russian society. It formed a "modern, more or less complete state." The established by the end of this period, the main features of the Russian state acquired a stable character, influencing subsequent historical evolution of the country.
