On the trends of development of the Russian economy in the context of the global crisis

Abstract

The global financial crisis, has come first, before the financial, and then to the real sector of the Russian economy, has generated a wave of interest in the short-term trends in its development, notably extinct for many years a stable economic recovery. Economic charts and indicators suddenly emerged from years of torpor, alive and went into a frenzied dance. Analysts, journalists, politicians fascinated by her formidable magnetism. In order for such a rapidly changing environment to make appropriate solutions, you must first understand what is happening in the economy, that is, to identify the current economic situation. This is the subject of this article. It provided a brief overview of the main trends in the Russian macroeconomic dynamics the past few years on the basis of statistical information covering period up to December 2008, with particular emphasis on trends of recent months.
