Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un estudio comparativo sobre la compe-titividad de la industria textil y de la confección en México con respecto de China para el periodo 1990-2015. El estudio se realiza partiendo del cálculo del Índice de la Ventaja Comparativa Revelada (IVCR) con la metodología propuesta por Balassa (1965) y enriquecida por Vollrath (1991). Como resul­tado de la comparación entre las dos economías, se muestra que la industria textil y de la confección en México tiene una desventaja comparativa revelada respecto a la misma industria en la economía China para el periodo del aná­lisis referido.
