La información para la gestión territorial como componente del gobierno electrónico

Abstract

Las TIC se han generalizado internacionalmente a partir del papel que juegan como apoyo a la toma de decisiones, en las empresas, sino también en el gobierno y esto ha originado el término de e-gobierno. El alcance del e-gobierno difiere en correspondencia con varios escenarios; en este artículo se suscribe el criterio de la Carta Iberoamericana, la cual considera los servicios que la administración pública debe brindar y su rol como gestor fundamental del bienestar de la población mediante la implementación de políticas. Se expresan las características fundamentales que tal sistema de información debe tener, así como la información fundamental que ofrece en sus más relevantes salidas. Esto constituye una vía para dar respuesta a las deficiencias de los sistemas territoriales existentes en el país, con prevalencia del criterio sectorial.
