Abstract

Considerando a relevância da irrigação na agricultura, o objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o efeito desta técnica sobre a produção agrícola dos municípios brasileiros. Para tanto, utilizou-se a abordagem da função de produção, implementando técnicas espaciais, com base nos dados do Censo Agropecuário do IBGE de 2017. A análise exploratória de dados espaciais (AEDE) apontou a existência de padrões espaciais nas variáveis selecionadas e, na análise local, identificaramse clusters espaciais significativos para irrigação. Já nas estimações espaciais, o modelo SAR (modelo de defasagem espacial) foi considerado o mais adequado, cujos resultados mostraram que o coeficiente do número de estabelecimentos irrigantes nos municípios foi positivo e significativo, o que implica que maior adoção da irrigação está associada à elevação do valor da produção agrícola municipal.
