Impacto de las importaciones en la industria manufacturera a nivel global: Análisis datos de Panel

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación es examinar el impacto que tienen las importaciones sobre la industria manufacturera en 151 países durante el periodo 1990-2016. Para lo cual estimamos un modelo dinámico de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (DOLS) para grupos de países que utilizan un modelo de Panel Dinámico con Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios(PDOLS). Seguidamente, para verificar la causalidad y encontrar las pruebas de equilibrio de las series utilizamos las pruebas de cointegración de Pedroni (1999),Westerlund (2007)y las pruebas de Dumitrescu y Hurlin (2012). Los resultados encontrados demuestran que hay una relación fuertemente entre las importaciones y la industria manufacturera, tanto a corto como a largo plazo. Una implicación de política es que los países con ingresos bajos como ingresos extremadamente bajos, incentivan la importación local y extranjera en los sectores productivos y así mejorar la industria manufacturera y generar más fuentes de trabajo.
