Abstract

Enerji tüketiminde önemli paya sahip olan petrol fiyatlarında meydana gelen değişim ile ülkelerin makro-ekonomik değişkenleri doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak etkilenmektedir. Ekonomik yapıda yarattığı belirsizlikler ve ani değişimler, ülkelerin ithalatçı/ihracatçı yapıya sahip olması ve uluslararası ticaretteki konumlarına göre farklı düzeyde etkilere sahip olmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında, New York borsasında işlem gören West Texas Intermediate ham petrolüne ilişkin 24 Ocak 1986-24 Mayıs 2021 dönemleri arası veriler ele alınarak, petrol fiyatlarında meydana gelen değişim iki aşamada ortaya çıkartılmaktadır. İlk olarak, ortalamada doğrusal olmayan modellerden kendinden eşik değerli otoregresif TAR ailesine ait olan SETAR, MTAR (Momentum TAR) ve yumuşak geçişli otoregresif STAR modellerden LSTAR ele alınarak modeller arasında karşılaştırma yapılarak, en uygun model olarak SETAR belirlenmektedir. İkinci aşamada ise petrol fiyatlarında meydana gelen yapısal değişikliklerin doğrusal olmayan yapısının Markov rejim değişim modeliyle ortaya konması amaçlanmaktadır.
