Abstract

Altı Sigma, örgütlerde kanıtlanmış kalite ilkelerinin titiz, ve etkili bir şekilde uygulanmasıdır. Birçok kalite öncüsünün çalışmalarından öğeleri birleştiren Altı Sigma iş performansının hatasız bir şekilde çalışmasını hedeflemektedir. Sigma, ‘σ’ istatistikçilerin ülkemizdeki değişkenliği ölçmek için kullandığı Yunan alfabesinde bir semboldür. Bir şirketin performansı iş süreçlerinin sigma seviyesi ile ölçülür. Günümüz dünyasında işletmelerin sürekli değişen müşteri gereksinimlerini karşılayabilmeleri ve her geçen gün daha yoğun rekabetin yaşandığı küresel pazarlarda rakiplerine karşı üstünlük sağlayabilmeleri için çeşitli yönetim uygulamalarına başvurmuşlardır. Bu çalışmada Altı Sigma çalışmalarının yönetim düzeyinde işletmelerin verimliliklerini nasıl arttıracakları ve bunun işletmelere olan etkilerinden söz edilmiştir.
