El default como impulso hacia una política económica heterodoxa

Abstract

Los defaults de deuda pública externa en el año 2001 en Argentina y 2008 en Ecuador adquieren su verdadero significado al ser analizados en el marco de los conflictos sociales que caracterizan el agotamiento de las políticas económicas neoliberales y de las pugnas entre diferentes fracciones del capital por dirigir el proceso de acumulación en cada país. La reestructuración de la deuda y las nuevas vías de endeudamiento público han abierto margen para un impulso del gasto público que ha estimulado el crecimiento económico y facilitado una pacificación de la conflictividad social e inestabilidad política. Los movimientos en la deuda pública además, han actuado como "palanca de cambio" para un reposicionamiento estatal y geopolítico que refleja un nuevo momento de la correlación de fuerzas sociales y de la hegemonía en la economía mundial.
