Rusia: ¿hacia una economía petrolero-rentista?

    En la actualidad, los especialistas en Rusia están considerando la posibilidad de que Rusia se convierta en una economía petrolero-rentista. En este trabajo pretendemos aportar elementos válidos para contrastar esta hipótesis. Para ello, en primer lugar, establecemos a nivel teórico las características que ha de tener una economía rentista para ser considerada como tal. Frente a la corriente explicativa más extendida en la actualidad, que asocia el rentismo a un escenario macroeconómico determinado, deducimos que la mera existencia de este escenario, si no se dan determinadas circunstancias políticas y sociales, no convierte a una economía petrolera en rentista. Una vez esclarecidas las condiciones indicadoras de rentismo, pasamos a analizar el caso de Rusia. El repaso sistemático de dichas condiciones nos lleva a establecer que, si bien hay indicios de un cierto rentismo en la economía rusa, en la situación actual este diagnóstico está lejos de poder ser confirmado.
