Abstract

ABSTRACT In this work, we analyze the duration of unemployment spells for married women by using I.N.E. ( Instituto Nacional de Estadística - The Spanish Institute for Statistics) panel data. We go deeply into the study of factors which affect the transition probabilities. For comparison purposes, we proceed by separately analyzing several Spanish regions. A discrete - time duration model is fitted to the data for this goal.
