Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper aims at proposing a theoretical and empirical analysis of the factors affecting the touristic demand in Comunidad Valenciana by exploiting the theoretical framework developed in economic geography. Our analysis combines the ideas belonging to the geographical economy with the techniques of the economic geography. In such a way, we propose a theoretical framework in order to study the formation of the touristic demand. The econometric exercise suggests that the elasticity of the touristic demand is positive and very significant with respect to the quality of the touristic services, but it is not affected by the number of restaurants.
