Abstract

RESUMEN Fréderic Le Play (1806-1882) escribió este texto como resultado de un encargo del gobierno español para un proyecto de mapa geológico de España, así como de la indagación acerca de la eventual existencia de minerales metálicos explotables en un área comprendida entre Extremadura y Andalucía. El viaje a España para este encargo tuvo lugar entre el 20 de abril y el 15 de julio de 1833, visitando Almadén, Córdoba, Cáceres, Badajoz, Sevilla, Riotinto, Cádiz, Málaga, Granada y Sierra de Gádor, donde unas fiebres tifoideas le obligaron a interrumpir el viaje, retornando por mar a Francia desde Valencia.
