Mujeres, hogares y mercado de trabajo en la obra de Luis Toharia

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar las publicaciones de Luis Toharia, entre 1991 y 2009, en las que se analiza la incorporación de la mujer al mercado de trabajo, los cambios socioeconómicos experimentados por su presencia en el mundo laboral, su posición de desigualdad respecto a los hombres, así como algunos aspectos institucionales relacionados con la conciliación de la vida laboral y familiar. Se han destacado tanto los resultados de sus investigaciones como aquellas aportaciones más interesante en relación con la metodología, las fuentes de datos y el enfoque empleado. La principal conclusión que se extrae es no se ha conseguido reducir las desigualdades por género. Las políticas de igualdad siguen sin dar los resultados esperados, por lo que todavía queda mucho camino por andar.
