Financiamiento no tradicional a las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas (mipymes) costarricenses

Abstract

El estudio introduce a un resumen de la situación actual de las micro, pequeñas y medianas (MIPYMES) empresas costarricenses, en cuanto sus características para su formación, etapas de crecimiento, objetivos, así como la importancia que tienen para el desarrollo económico y social del país. Se describen los tipos y características del financiamiento y apoyo de la banca tradicional y no tradicional, para posteriormente analizar la necesidad de fortalecer un sistema de financiamiento que no esté sujeto a los requisitos exigidos por la Superintendencia General de Entidades Financieras (SUGEF) de Costa Rica. Seguidamente y en el fin de medir las brechas y obstáculos existentes en este sector, se realizó un seminario-taller con diferentes actores de la economía costarricense: microempresas, cámaras y asociaciones de los MIPYMES, banqueros del sistema bancario tradicional, funcionarios del sistema de financiamientos no tradicional, expertos y académicos. Se concluye que se debe replantear seriamente la necesidad de definir una política pública, para fortalecer los apoyos y financiamientos no tradicionales, que les permita facilitar a las MIPYMES su nacimiento y crecimiento, para insertarlos formalmente en la economía nacional y las prepare para el mercado externo.
