Desarrollo de un Indicador de Actividad Económica Regional y Pronósticos del Valor Agregado Bruto: El Caso de Loreto

Abstract

Haciendo uso de un modelo de factor dinámico bayesiano y utilizando series económicas con frecuencia mixta se obtiene una herramienta para la estimación trimestral latente no observada de la actividad económica de Loreto. Asimismo, ello permite generar pronósticos de manera adelantada a la publicación oficial correspondiente al Valor Agregado Bruto anual de la región. Los resultados muestran que el indicador de actividad económica es coincidente con el comportamiento económico regional y nacional. Además, se evidencia que los pronósticos sobre el Valor Agregado Bruto de Loreto tienen un buen nivel de precisión ya que los pronósticos se desvían en promedio un 1,5% (resultado de la raíz del error cuadrático medio – RECM) de los datos reales.
