Persistencia Inflacionaria: El Caso Mexicano 2000-2008

Abstract

Esta investigación muestra evidencia empírica sobre la persistencia de inflación en México durante el periodo 2000-2008, con una vida media de los choques de inflación alrededor de 9 meses. Se analizaron también otras dos ventanas de estimación, los periodos 2000-2006 y 2001-2007, en donde la vida media de los choques fue de sólo la mitad que en el periodo de análisis, 2000-2008. Para ello, se utilizó la función de impulso respuesta en la estimación de la vida media de un choque. Por último, es importante mencionar que el aumento detectado en la persistencia inflacionaria en 2000-2008 es robusto con respecto de varias especificaciones estimadas para la tasa de inflación.
