Abstract

The article discusses the possibility to develop a sufficiently determined concept of economic liberty. Firms' political power is a pervading problem for market economies, and it is simplistic to focus on larger firms market power only. It is still relevant to consider an Ordoliberal principle against the risk that economic powers, whether concentrated or syndicated, may deform political democracy. There needs to be strong public powers autonomous from private interests.
