Sviluppo economico e classi sociali in Italia

Author

Listed:
  • Paolo Sylos Labini

Abstract

The author investigates the long-term development of social stratification in Italy, comparing it with the economic and industrial development in the country during the 1880s-1960s period. The growth the middle class impresses as a trend in stark contrast to Karl Marx's laws of development of capitalism, though a precise economic definition of such "quasi-class" is very problematic.
