Abstract

[eng] Human capital and hierarchical mobility of earnings : a count data approach.. . The mobility of an individual inside the earnings hierarchy, his earnings career, is analized as the result of an individual decision of investment, when the movements of the hierarchy depend of the business cycle.. This hypothesis of « casting » is tested on french data using count data econometric models.. The results highligt the importance of human capital variables in explaining individual paths, taking into account the heterogeneous effect of individual variables along the hierarchy. The business cycle doesn't seem to have significant effect on the relative paths of individuals.
