Abstract

[eng] Looking at the case of herbicide-tolerant soybean, this paper examines the agro-economic factors contributing to its rapid adoption in the usa. Firstly, data is presented on the transgenic crops cultivated around the world and in the usa. Then the paper examines agro-economic factors explaining the rapid spread of glyphosate tolerant soybean in the usa. It also takes up its various environmental and health aspects. Lastly, the prospects of transgenic crops are examined, taking into account outlet issues due to the suspicion of GMOs in some importing countries.
