Abstract

. Classification JEL : G22, M41 . . [eng] Although 2005 is the year of accounting conversion to new standards, they are still subjected to debates, implementation difficulties and changes. Insurance «enjoys» exceptional measures from IASB. The implementation of the standard concerning liabilities is delayed to a second period roughly set in 2007. Several reasons explain this specific situation. The objectives, principles and methods’ dogmatism is based on presuppositions which aren’t obvious. So insurance market is now encouraged to wait by the two implementation periods of IFRS. The author analyses if «liabilities’ fair value» is able to solve these issues and imagines conceivable solutions. . JEL classification : G22, M41
