Abstract

[eng] Development of Life Insurance in Europe . The article entitled « The European Life Insurance Markets » is very interesting because of information it presents and the analysis of life insurance development. The studied data are collected by the European Board of Insurance (Comité Européen des Assurances). This article tries to explain difficulties to collect data and presents additional information. . JEL classifications : E21, G11, M41 [fre] L’article consacré à la situation de l’assurance-vie dans un échantillon de huit pays européens est particulièrement intéressant tant par la diversité des informations qui y figurent que par l’analyse des facteurs explicatifs du développement de l’assurance-vie. Les informations collectées par le Comité européen des Assurances (CEA) sont à l’origine d’une grande partie des informations traitées. Étant donné les difficultés rencontrées pour collecter ces informations sous des bases comparables (malgré des définitions homogènes) et grâce à l’apport des dernières statistiques relatives à l’année 2000 et au début de l’année 2001, cet article tente d’apporter quelques compléments d’informations. .
