Abstract

Research data is optimized when it can be freely accessed and reused. To maximize research equity, transparency, and reproducibility, policymakers should take concrete steps to ensure that research software is openly accessible and reusable.Research data is optimized when it can be freely accessed and reused. This Perspective provides recommendations for policymakers to maximize research equity, transparency, and reproducibility, ensuring that research software is openly accessible and reusable.
