When Technical Skills Are Not All You Need to Succeed

Abstract

Economists at large firms such as KPMG need to combine technical skills—which NABE’s CBE program provides a way to clearly demonstrate–with the ability to communicate with non-economists. Networking with fellow economists is also essential. However, one cannot overlook incorporating the mindset of a member of a profit center team, and demonstrating to stakeholders how economics contributes to the bottom line, driving better results via better planning, investing and value to clients.
