Abstract

John Taylor Gatto is known primarily as a severe critic of the modern systems of public education – provided compulsorily by the state –, especially in his main works: “Dumbing Us Down” (1992), “The Underground History of American Education” (2000) or “Weapons of Mass Instruction” (2009). Less discussed are his constructive proposals about education “as it should be”.
