Analysis of the Backlighting and Automotive Market on Lighting Technologies

Abstract

Economic entities need to make more viable and more cost-effective estimates for gains or otherwise for survival. As a result, the goal of an economic organization operating in a competitive economy and has limited resources is to make its business more efficient. The originality of the paper is determined by the analysis of the automotive and backlighting market and its evolution according to the technologies used in lighting. The results of study showed that in the two areas of activity, part of the lighting market, key modifications have been made due to the penetration of LEDs on the market, which leads to a longer life of the automobile lighting, but also a decrease in replacement sources in this area. In the case of the backlighting market, the paper demonstrated that the previous technologies used in this type of lighting (LED, CCFL, fluorescent lamps, etc.) have been replaced by LED technology because of the very small dimensions of this technology, and they are present in laptops, mobile phones, monitors, LCD TVs, where CCFL technology has been mostly used. The last but not least, the author noted the disappearance of the technologies used so far in these areas and the migration towards efficient lighting technologies.
