Organizational Consequences and Individual Antecedents to Emotional Dissonance and Emotional Labor

Abstract

This study reports the results of two research surveys, conducted in big administrative entities and covering 158 and 233 employees respecti vely. It confi rms some of the most important organizational consequences of emotional labor, showing that – generally – high levels of perceived emoti onal dissonance aff ect negati vely job performance, commitment and satifaction.
