Abstract

(Chinese economic reform since 1978 has pluralized the country’s ethical discourse. Communists, capitalists, and consumers compete against each other on the basis of newly emerging norms and values. This development is characterized by widespread inconsistencies and fast moving changes. At the same time, Chinese consumer society is undergoing a deep rooted transformation that business has to adapt to and deal with.)
