Abstract

Characteristic of the human condition, the ephemeral lives in us. We tried to follow what would be the path of ephemeral topos from text to show, leaning in the niche of the ancient Hellenic tragedy. A research of the reason over time has enabled us to delineate several meanings, on the raccourcis this problem. In the second part of the article we intend to make the portray of Hecuba, in a double mirror: the Queen and women of Troy represents multiple sides of fleeting happiness, as it is understood in the ancient world. The ambivalent picture emerges from Euripides's text through to modern shows (our research taking into discussion fittings from England, USA, Australia and Romania). In the same purpose, we have approached and dealt with less text scenic from this point of view, first to discover in them new meanings of the topos ephemeral and, secondly, to remove them from the shadow that has been forgotten. Eschiliene writings, The Seven against Thebes, Persians, and the both tragedies of Euripides, The Phoenician Women and The Preyers, constituted the basis of our observations.
