Abstract

The present paper synthesizes the tendencies of the tourist phenomenon in Bârnova Village, focused on progress from a disorganized and unsystematized form of tourism, to an organized one, based on education and specific infrastructure. This evolution is supported by the village atractiveness index of 2,79 on a scale of 1 to 4 and by the tourists increased interest, as well as by the local inhabitants’ enthusiasm, which came as a conclusion of our questionnaires. In order to improve the conditions for tourist development, it is absolutely necessary to take 4 types of measures: the modernization of infrastructure, reconstruction of tourist sights, preservation of natural resources and the construction of new facilities. These measures are necessary because of the presence of some valuable tourist resources, which require preservation and which are, at the same time, an important source of the village’s economic growth.
