Abstract

Purpose: based on a theoretical and empirical study, identify and characterize the peculiarities of senior preschool children's use of words of gratitude. Research methods and techniques: theoretical (analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization); diagnostic (targeted formalized observation, individual conversations with children); developmental methods and techniques; statistical (setting average values and percentage ratios, setting the level of significance according to Student's t- criterion). Results: Research on the use of words of gratitude by senior preschool children has been proven to be relevant. The originality and place of expressing gratitude in the structure of etiquette speech are determined. The criteria of the researched phenomenon, which cover various areas of mental development of older preschoolers (cognitive, value, conative, social-communicative, emotional), are substantiated. The results of the primary diagnosis of the peculiarities of the use of words of gratitude by senior preschoolers were conducted and analyzed. A differentiated program of developmental work was developed and carried out. The peculiarities of the use of words of gratitude by senior preschool children were determined. A statistical evaluation of the effectiveness of the development work was carried out. Conclusions: The use of words of gratitude by senior preschool children, provided that purposeful development work is carried out, is characterized by a high dynamic of quantitative and qualitative growth, an intensive spread of the range of ideas about existing forms of thanks and the direction of using these words, active formation of abilities and skills in the use of communicative and speech formulas in everyday behavior and their use in various activities
