Abstract

The study proposes to draw out the relationship between “the psychology of history” and history and the main causes for which psychohistory has been treated with suspicion by the community of foreign historians and especially by the Romanian ones. Presenting a few methodological and epistemological differences of history and psychohistory, I have continued with evidencing the manner in which the historical and the psycho-historical report to the sources, but also at the consensus the two can reach concerning the analysis and interpretation of facts, events and historical processes, such as, the Romanian Communist torturers theme.
